conceptualization, claim, branding, editorial design. On the occasion of the annual pitch for the DMG - Design Monat Graz - organized by Creative Industries Styria and the University of Applied Sciences FH Joanneum, my colleagues Diana Bobb, Gwendolyn Maierhofer and me created a design concept comprising a claim, branding, editorial design and several merchandise products. The approach of our conception was to stir out from the clear design of the last years towards something that occupies a certain and, in particular, a bit unconventional character. The claim „Shaping the future“ should accentuate the matter of fact that, we as society, need to take up an active part when it comes to future thinking. By making the overall design looking - in a common understanding - anything but futuristic, we wanted to point out that in contrast to the often general assumption, in fact, actually none of us really knows what THE future will look like. Due to this, the whole concept was established on graphical contrasts, trying to express these ambiguities.
